Opalescent - DK Corriedale Woolen Spun Yarn

Opalescent is a soft variegated colourway with all the colours of an Opal - peach, sage, soft soft gold, Smokey purple and blue. It’s a pastel tonal so it may pool depending on what project it’s used in.  This is a colourway I've been dyeing on multiple bases for year and it's finally here on this fibre.

Corrie Woollen is a non-superwash 100% Corriedale wool yarn that is woollen spun, making it warm, light and lofty. Being 300m per 100g skein, you’d think this was a sport weight yarn however, due to its woollen spun construction, the yarn will knit more to a DK/worsted weight. You get around 30% more yardage per 100g than a typical worsted spun DK/worsted weight yarn, making this an excellent value pure Corriedale wool yarn.

Anything made in this yarn will be lightweight and keep its shape well. The yarn characteristics make it perfect for accessories, sweaters of all kinds, stranded colourwork and cable knits.
